Illinois Emergency Management Agency Training

IEMA offers links to many training and exercise resources available for local emergency responders.  This includes two levels of emergency management accredidation, their Professional Development Series Certificate and Illinois Professional Emergency Manager Certificate.

WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION EDUCATION

Nurses on the Front Line: Preparing for Emergencies and Disasters
This course is an interactive web-based course that provides emergency preparedness training for nurses working in a wide variety of settings. Although the course is targeted to nurses, the lessons are applicable to all health care professionals and IMERT members who may respond to a CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Environmental) event. Introduction to Emergency Response to Terrorism (Q0890)
This course is designed to provide the basic awareness training to prepare first responders to respond to incidents of terrorism safely and effectively. Offered by the US Fire Administration.

Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service
Provides a number of quality free online CBRNE education courses, including Basic EMS Concept for CBRNE Incidents and WMD/Terrorism Awareness for Emergency Responders.

Illinois Fire Safety Institute

Illinois Fire Safety Institute provides a variety of WMD and AHA courses free of charge to Illinois residents.  These courses are primarily provided in Urbana.
